Will a Tap Filter Fit Your Kitchen Tap? How to Check in Under a Minute

Where it connects

01

Almost every Australian kitchen tap has a removable aerator

The small piece at the tip of your spout unscrews. Underneath it is a thread, and that thread is what a tap filter attaches to. On most Australian mixers it turns by hand, or with a gentle grip through a tea towel.

If your aerator unscrews, you are most of the way to knowing your answer.

Your Tap’s Shape Doesn’t Decide the Fit—Its Aerator Does

The BlissfulHome™ Tap Water Filter is designed for standard fixed kitchen taps with a removable aerator—the small fitting at the end of the spout.

Before ordering, unscrew your aerator and check for an exposed male or female thread. Our included adapter set covers most common Australian tap connections.

Adapters for the common Australian sizes are included in the box, we also sell metal adapters separately.

How to measure yours before you order

Unscrew the aerator. Look at whether the threads sit on the outside of the spout or recessed inside it. Measure across the thread with a ruler in millimetres. Note the number and whether it is male or female — that is everything we need.

A ruler and your phones camera. Thirty seconds, no tools, nothing dismantled.

The taps this will not fit

The BlissfulHome™ Tap Water Filter fits approximately 95% of standard Australian taps with a removable aerator. It is not suitable for pull-out or pull-down spray taps, spring-coil taps, sensor taps, fixed aerators, or square waterfall-style spouts.

Some designer and European taps may require an additional adapter. If you’re unsure, simply send us a clear photo of your tap before ordering and our team will help identify whether it’s compatible and which adapter you need.

Most compatible taps install in around 60 seconds—without a plumber, drilling or permanent changes.

Send us a photo and we will tell you

Take a clear picture of your tap with the aerator removed and send it to us. Jimmy, Sheridan or the team will tell you whether it connects, which adapter applies, or that it is not right for your kitchen.

It costs nothing and takes a minute. It is the single most useful thing you can do before buying any tap filter.
