Before you begin

  • Turn the tap off and cover the sink drain so small parts don’t fall in.
  • Keep the supplied adapters, sealing washers and installation tool within reach.
  • Check that your tap has a removable round aerator. Pull-out, pull-down and sensor taps are not supported.
  • Use the filter with cold drinking water. Keep the original aerator for later.

Take your time — we’re here to help

A straightforward fitting can be quick, but recessed aerators and different thread sizes may need a little more time.

If a fitting is stuck or an adapter won’t turn smoothly, stop. Don’t force it or use the filter body as a lever.

STEP 1

Remove the aerator

  1. Unscrew the small fitting at the end of the spout. Looking up at the outlet from underneath, turn anti-clockwise.
  2. If the aerator is recessed inside the spout, it may need a correctly fitting aerator key.
  3. Keep the old aerator and washer. Check the exposed threads for damage or debris.
My aerator won’t come off

Stop rather than forcing it. Send us a whole-tap photo and a close-up of the outlet. We’ll help identify the fitting or tool you need.

STEP 2

Match, then attach

  1. Choose the adapter that matches your tap’s inside or outside thread. Some matching taps connect directly to the diverter.
  2. Seat the correct supplied sealing washer flat in the fitting. Use the arrangement shown in your supplied instructions.
  3. Start the fitting by hand. It should screw on smoothly. Support the filter while you connect it and gently hand-tighten.
The supplied adapter doesn’t fit

Don’t force, cross-thread or stack adapters. Use “I need a metal adapter” below and attach your tap photos and measurement. We’ll help identify the right fitting.

STEP 3

Flush & check the modes

  1. Open the cold tap gently and check the connection for leaks.
  2. Move the diverter lever to filtered mode. Filtered water should come from the outlet underneath the stainless-steel filter.
  3. Flush before drinking for the time specified in your cartridge instructions.
  4. Switch to regular mode for washing dishes. Water bypasses the cartridge and comes from the diverter’s regular outlet.
Water is coming from the wrong outlet

Move the lever to the other position and check again. If filtered mode still doesn’t send water through the filter outlet, turn the tap off and contact us with a short video.

How to measure your tap

Remove the aerator first, if it comes off easily. Use a ruler marked in millimetres, or a digital caliper if you have one.

Measure outside edge to outside edge

Outside threads

  1. Find the screw threads around the outside of the spout.
  2. Measure across the widest outer edges of those threads.
  3. Record the measurement in mm and photograph it with the ruler visible.
Measure across the inside opening

Inside / recessed threads

  1. Find the threads inside the spout after removing the aerator.
  2. Measure across the inside opening as a reference, and photograph the threads from underneath.
  3. Include a photo of the removed aerator and any size marking on it.
A measurement helps us choose — it isn’t an adapter code.
Inside measurements and nominal thread sizes differ. Pitch and recessed fitting designs also matter. Send the measurement and photos together; don’t order a size based on the ruler alone.

A fitting issue? Start here.

It leaks around the tap connection

Turn off the tap. Remove the fitting, check that the supplied washer is present, undamaged and lying flat, then reconnect by hand. The thread should engage smoothly. If it still leaks, stop and send a close-up or short video.

The adapter is loose or won’t screw on

It may be the wrong thread size or type. Don’t force it, glue it or use thread tape to compensate for a mismatched fitting. Send your measurement, the removed aerator and photos of the adapters you tried.

I need a metal adapter

Contact us before buying a separate fitting. For an existing BlissfulHome™ order, we provide the suitable metal adapter free of charge once we’ve identified the fitting you need. Include your order number and photos.

The flow is slow or the water still smells

Check that cold water is selected and the lever is in filtered mode. Follow the cartridge’s flushing instructions. If flow or taste remains unusual, tell us your cartridge age and send a short video. Avoid running hot water through the cartridge.
